Are you ready for Cold and Flu Season???

It is that time of year again, Cold and Flu Season. Make sure you are taking steps to protect yourself.
Since none of us can afford to miss out on work or school, make sure your immune system is operating at the highest level. Now is a good time for preventive supplements such as extra Vitamin C, Zinc, Garlic, Astragalus, and Echinacea.
Eat healthy, balanced meals and avoid processed, fried, and high sugar foods. Try to eat fruits and/or vegetables at every meal and as snacks.
Take a moment to disinfect your environment, such as your desk, kitchen, bathroom and remote control.
It is also important to note the role stress plays in reducing your immune function. Chronic stress has the ability to lower your defenses and leave you vunerable to the Common Cold or Flu. It is important to reduce your stress levels and practice stress relieving techniques as often as possible.
With these simple tips, here's hoping you make it through this season without missing a beat!
However, if you do end up with the dreaded Cold or Flu this season, call and make an appointment with the Naturopath, Jennifer Houle, ND, LMT, and see what you can do naturally to support your health and wellness.

Seasonal Cleansing

As the seasons change there are also changes in the body. The chemistry of the body changes to prepare for the upcoming season. In order to support this natural action of the body, it is wise to do a cleanse with each season. There are several ways to cleanse the body including a cleansing juice fast or over the counter supplement cleanses. Regardless of the method you choose, your body will be recharged and able to handle the upcoming changes with ease. You will be less likely to catch all the viral and bacterial infections that are commonly spread. Your body will thank you for "cleaning house" with each season. If you would like more information about cleansing, feel free to contact our office and make an appointment with our Naturopath.
